Norris McLaughlin & Marcus to Host Environmental Seminar
Allentown, PA (August 8, 2013) – The Environmental Law Group of the Pennsylvania office of Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A., will host a seminar, Don’t Cry Over Spilled Oil: Understanding Environmental Risks Can Create Opportunities, on September 25 at Sands Casino. Presenters include members of the firm’s Environmental Law Group, John F. Lushis, Esq., and Jeffrey M. Casaletto, Esq.; Betsy Schamberger, President of Moonstone Environmental; and Tracy Oscavich, Director of Lehigh Valley Land Recycling Initiative. For more information, click here.
“This seminar is designed to assist developers, investors, commercial brokers, business owners, commercial lenders, municipalities, and others having a stake in property understand that an environmental issue does not mean you’ve reached the end of the line – there are many ways to address these issues and there is help available,” said Lushis.
The Environmental Law Group works with businesses throughout the nation that are subject to an array of federal, state and local environmental and safety legislation and regulations that are constantly expanding in scope and complexity.
Lushis focuses his practice on environmental, economic development, real estate, and transaction law. He serves as one of the firm’s corporate environmental counsel, focusing on soil and groundwater issues and other environmental issues for various businesses. Lushis provides counsel on an extensive diversity of transactions, including loan transactions, corporate restructurings, acquisitions and divestitures, leases, industrial development authority financings, and a wide array of commercial agreements. He has worked on multi-million-dollar loans and major tax-exempt financings for businesses and non-profits, as well as tax increment financing projects for major developers.
Casaletto, a member of the firm, practices in the Environmental Law Group. He represents and counsels clients in a wide range of industries, including commercial and residential developers, chemical and industrial manufacturers, and commercial business owners. Casaletto has assisted and continues to assist clients in resolving issues related to site remediation, due diligence, solid and hazardous waste disposal, regulatory compliance, permitting, Brownfields redevelopment, and cleanup cost recovery. Prior to joining Norris McLaughlin, Casaletto was Assistant Regional Counsel, and the 2002 Michael F. Vaccaro Honors Fellowship Attorney, at the U.S. EPA Region III where he focused on Superfund matters.
